Do masks really work?

This question is posed by the user and the dealer alike. It requires an answer so that confidence in masks can continue. The answer is complicated yet we have to find a simple one that will satisfy the listener and instill a belief in the product straight away. More often than not, the listener will be sceptical requiring evidence before being convinced that masks work. It is our task as efficient sales people/dealers to produce an answer that is informative yet not too technical, simple yet not condescending. Clearly the potential user is curious because the product is being worn by other users, this does not however convince them that masks work, it only makes them enquire about the products through the dealers. This is where we have to start the education process.

So here goes!

Our first response to the original question has got to be "yes", and then we set about trying to explain the reasons for giving this answer.

The Respro® mask was developed from the technology used in the industrial market including the Defence Establishement for the protection of military personel.

The Respro® mask utilises materials that are used in the industrial market for the protection of workers who would be putting their health at risk in their work environments if they failed to wear adequate protection.

Respro® uses the same testing procedures for its products to ensure that they do work . Detailed analysis of filtration and performance are measured to determine the ability of the product. If it fails to perform then it fails the test.

Respro® products passed the tests.

People such as hospital staff who use anesthetic gases for patients in surgery, people who use cleaning agents that give off poisonous fumes, people who remove asbestos material from old buildings and so on, they all wear masks for protection. These products and materials are throughly tetsed to ensure that they work.

Respro® products are also used by the fire services here in the UK, and in North America, both have strict controls over the use of any equipment that is specified for their use.
