Urban Environment

Working in the urban environment subjects its occupants to almost the same levels of pollution as a cyclist. Anybody, working for continuous or consistent periods of time in the urban environment where high levels of pollution occur, should use respiratory protection.

Road workers, combustible engineers, newspaper vendors, and traffic control staff should all have respiratory protection to avoid the succeptibility to chest infections and other disease affecting the respiratory system. Any employee that works for a council or municiple body should be afforded protection and probably should demand it on safety grounds. Other areas include airport aviation staff, car park staff, and any other people who are subjected to the inhalation of vehicle pollution in the urban environment.
